On Saturday 11th September I'll be running a creative writing workshop as part of Brewtime Collective's 'The Collective Weekender'.
The Collective Weekender is a four day event, running from 9th -12th September, and it aims to encourage audiences to participate in 24 FREE creative events and workshops in Preston, Lancashire. The event is funded by Arts Council England and Preston City Council. Events include street photography, dancing, singing, crafting, poetry, painting, watermelon carving and most importantly, writing!
My workshop, 'Live. Write.' will run from 10:30-12:30 on Saturday 11th at The Larder, Lancaster Road Preston.
I'll be guiding writers of all abilities through the process of writing a short memoir. The stories, letters and poems will then be collated and published on Amazon Kindle, giving every participant the opportunity to become a 'published author'. All you need to bring is a pen and notebook, your enthusiasm, your memories, and a willingness to have fun! The workshop is open to everyone, regardless of age or ability. It's a FREE workshop, but places are limited, so make sure you book via this link if you want to attend.
Tickets for all events can be found on Eventbrite via this QR code.

Back in 2016, I founded the 'Just Write' writing group in Preston, which aimed to give writers of any ability the opportunity to come together and write. The group still runs today in a smaller form, led by Maya Ozolina. I've also been fortunate enough this year to run 'Writing Monologues' workshops for medical students at The University of Edinburgh, and I'm hopeful that this will be happening again soon.
